Altınkum Reedbed is located on Avşa Island, 3 km northeast of the centre, at Marmara Adalar Municipality. It is a small estuary with seasonal water presence, covering an area of 0.36 ha. Although located next to a car road, no human activity is observed inside of the estuary. The banks of the stream is covered with Salix sp. trees and Ammophilous species are dominant on the estuary with scarce Juncus sp. Crucianellion maritimae fixed beach dunes (2210) and Mediterranean salt meadows (Juncetalia maritimi) (1410) are the habitat types recorded. Tedpoles observed in the wetland.
